Post 6: Postgraduate Studies

I´ve always imagined studying all my life, it´s something I love to do, because I think it´s fundamental to be better in your discipline. That´s why since I entered in de career I knew that as soon as I finished I would go to study outside of Chile. I´ve only got a year and a half to finish my studies and that´s why I´ve started to think about the destinations that interest me, considering interesting cities to live in as well as universities and study plans that seem appealing to me. At the moment I have three options in mind. The first would be to go to Barcelona, to the Polytechnic of Catalonia. There is a master´s and PhD program in architecture therory an criticism, where several of the great architects I have studied throughout my career are teaching. In addition, the Catalan culture seems to me to be very powerful and its city is marvellous. Secondly it would be New York, at Columbia University. There they have a master´s program in Criticism and Curatorship in Architecture that I would love to study, and obviously the city is incredible, but I can´t stop thinking that life there is very expensive and very stressful. My third option would be London, there I would be interested in studying a master´s degree in cultural management, wich is developed from several disciplines. It would be very interesting to learn how to approach that subjects that interest me from other ways of thinking, in addition to knowing tools that make my knowledge grow beyond architecture. I really like the idea of working in the future in cultural centres, museums, places of learning, etc. So a master´s degree in curatorship or cultural management seems perfect.
In any case, my plan will be to study full time, because although I dream of living in another country I also have a lot to come back and hopefully be able to find a place in the university to be able to teach and continue learning right here.

Post 5: My Future Job

I see myself in many jobs at once. I think  today is essential to try to be flexible and not stay in one place. Since I started studying architecture I knew that sooner or later I would have to take care of my dad´s office, who is also an architect. I´m very lucky to have the opportunity to develop as an architect in an office with so much experience and fulfill the dream of designing and building. But I don´t think I will be able to stay in the office full time. That is why I want to go to another country to do a master and a PhD once I finish the university, to lear more about the world, learn from other cultures and customs, learn other ways of understanding architecture and return to work in the office and hopefully do classes at the university and research. They are big dreams, but I think it is very important to stay awere, learn from new generations and study throughout life.
In addition to that more objective life plan, a job that I would very much like to have would be as an administrator or a position in a Cultural Center. That is why within the master that I'm interested in are those of cultural management or curatorship in architecture.

Post 4: My favorite TV show

It´s really difficult to choose a favorite TV show, but among all of those I've seen the one I never get tired of, Friends is definitely the one.
Everyone has seen at least a chapter of this TV show, and within its virtues is that you can watch any loose chapter and understand the plot without problem. But a couple years ago I decided to watch it complete, following the timeline and it was worth it.
The TV show consists of the lives of 5 friends, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler, Joe and Rachel. They live in New York and meet every day in the cafeteria of their building. The story is very simple and deals with love problems and daily life.
My favorite chapter is one called "The One With the Cop". In this chapter Ross needs a new sofa for his apartment, so he goes out to buy one with Rachel. When Ross goes to pay, he realizes that the shipping fee is more expensive than the sofa itself, so he decides to take it on his own. The problem strats when they realize that doesn´t fit through the stairs of the building. At that moment the famous phrase of Ross emerges, shouting "Pivot" giving instructions to Chandler and Rachel to fit the sofa up stairs. Finally, in despair they cut the chair in half and Ross tries to return it to the store.
